Helping Nova Scotians Move More at Home

The Doctors Nova Scotia Healthy Tomorrow Foundation is not taking the COVID-19 pandemic sitting down and its urging Nova Scotians to follow their lead.

The Foundation is currently offering two opportunities to help Nova Scotians move more. The Let’s Keep Moving campaign aims to encourage followers to move a little by following along with videos released each weekday on the Healthy Tomorrow Facebook page. The videos, posted in French and English, range from 10-20 minutes, include activities and instruction that can be modified for all ages and abilities and completed in confined spaces at home.

Kids Run Club at Home is a modified and virtual bilingual run club that was introduced on May 6th after restrictions on outdoor spaces were loosened. Program materials including training schedules, healthy living and running tips and certificates of achievement are available online. Schools that register will be provided with finisher’s prizes to distribute to their students who participated in the Club.

Through Let’s Keep Moving and Kids Run Club at Home, the Healthy Tomorrow Foundation hopes to inspire and support Nova Scotians to include movement in their daily lives and to experience a sense of togetherness as we face these challenging times. We’d like to acknowledge our funding partners, sponsors and supporters for standing behind us as we work to honour our commitment to help Nova Scotians move more. Thank you to Doctors Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Government, MD Financial Management, Clearwater Seafoods and MICCO Companies for supporting the Foundation in its efforts to create a healthy tomorrow.
