FUN RUNS
Participating in a running event can keep participants motivated during training and help them celebrate all their hard work.
Fun runs, or youth runs, tend to be non-competitive, shorter distances (5 km or less) where participation is emphasized over racing. Some runs charge a registration fee, some don’t. Some runs provide T-shirts, medals and prizes while others simply provide participants an opportunity to experience a sense of accomplishment.
There are a number of youth-specific fun runs throughout the province, including several sponsored by Doctors Nova Scotia*:
- Emera Blue Nose Marathon Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run*
- Cape Breton Fiddlers Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run*
- Run Nova Scotia Youth Running Series
- Johnny Miles Running Event Weekend
